Overall quality was very good and production was average. With lower prices continuing on for a few years now, regionally there is less fertilization and less farm upkeep like pruning, shade management, and leaf rust control.

Managing Coffee Leaf Rust Producing coffee is increasingly difficult, production costs are every year
more scarce both for the price of inputs, the shortage of hand of
work, climate change among others and in most of the years the price at
that coffee is sold barely enough to cover costs without leaving any
economic profitability, only the personal satisfaction of a coffee grower
Having produced a good coffee. That's why for coffee grower it is
important to establish a direct relationship with a buyer to be able to
sell coffee, which represents the family effort of a whole year, a
fair price that covers costs and generates economic profitability.
